Elijah Turns Four

The birthday boy the night before his party with his "LarryBoy" Veggie Tales cake.

Eliajh checking out his hero.

Elijah and Sierra having fun at the family party- 100 degrees that day!

Sierra helped mommy make the cake.

Elijah turned four on Monday and although we had a wonderful birthday celebration I have to admit it hit me hard. My baby really is growing fast. I think I wanted him to stay 3 forever.

He was thrilled to have a birthday! He's into so many things lately that it made his wish list rather long- and friends and family were very generous. He got Bob the Builder toys, Legos, VeggieTales toys/movies, Candyland, clothes, gift cards.... it was incredible.

We took him to see Bob the Builder and Thomas the train live at the train museum in Perris, CA. Then later that night we had a family party with appetizers, cake, and the kiddie pool to survive the 100 degree weather. He had a blast and is still singing happy birthday to himself. Thanks to all for a great day!

Big Girl Haircut

Sierra finally had her first big girl haircut. It broke my heart- I wanted to let her hair grow and grow, but it was starting to look stringy and get in her face. We took her to Cool Cuts 4 Kids because that's where Elijah goes, and they love getting to sit in the pedal car seats. She was so good about it- no tears at all. She looks even cuter to me now.

Her pre-haircut lookDuring- and with the angels shining down on her!

Post haircut- and looking adorable!

Proud Mommy!

Dancing With My Star

Elijah and I usually watch "Dancing With the Stars" together every Monday. It's way past his bedtime, but he loves it and I like getting that one on one snuggle time. This week, however, he seemed tired, so I put him bed before it came on- or so I thought. When the intro music began he ran out of his room and said, "HEY! I didn't know Dancing With the Stars" was on!" It was so funny! He's a 3 yr. old boy and he couldn't miss his weekly dose of ballroom dancing. This time he even danced along (he got on the coffee table for his stage!)

Sierra's Shoot

Rich did a little photo shoot with Sierra. The best part about it was that she didn't get it - he would position her and smile at her, so she would get up and come to hug him before he could get the picture taken. It was fun to watch through the window.

Spring is in the Air

Our front yard is in full bloom and it is so rewarding to see. Rich and I worked so hard (last spring) to tear out the ugly landscaping that came with our house and put in something nice that suits our taste.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

One of the best parts of our weekend in Laughlin was taking advantage of the wind and flying a kite!! It was an incredible thing to watch Eli get so excited and start singing, "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins. Even the big kids wanted a turn to fly the $1 Veggie Tales kite. Simple moments go a long way.

Anniversary Weekend in Laughlin

Our family met Ryan (Rich's brother),Teena & the kids for a great weekend in Laughlin. It was our 5 year wedding anniversary and just a good chance to get together with our New Mexico family. We went out in Ryan's new boat, jet skiing on our friends skis, and messed around in the water with the kids. It was such a blast to see the cousins playing together and a huge bonus that the kids took it all in and didn't have fears about the water and the loud sounds.

The little crew. Jazzy, Sierra, Rylee, and Elijah.

The kids spent hours playing on the boat- we have no idea what they found so fun, but it was cute! Now that is cutie booty!!!

Eli wanted to go "super, super fast!"

Beautiful Cousin Rylee
Elijah was in heaven- A million rocks, a huge body of water to throw them in, and he didn't get in one bit of trouble.

So Blessed!

Rich snapped this picture of Elijah in front of our house the other day and when I saw it - I just melted. I have been so scared about Eli's health this past month and to see him look so solid and healthy (and darn CUTE!) I just feel so blessed. He is a challenge to be sure- but I know that I was meant to be his mom.
