Birthday-BIG-Boy

Time has flown by in a way that I am just not prepared for... Elijah is 6 today. And although I am extremely proud of the boy he is becoming ... I am panicking & trying to figure out how to freeze time so he won't get any bigger.

The phase I'm missing now is the sleeper jammies and napping on my lap with a milk sippy cup. sooooo cute....

Currently, he's into playing video games (non-stop if I'd let him), watching clips of Lego characters on YouTube, making color block patterns on Excel, playing Legos, riding his bike, and his new one "gardening" which is making a mud pit on the side of the house and then digging in it.

So- I know, I know, this is all typical growing up boy stuff... but the mommy in me wants him to be my baby forever. Has anyone got that formula?

Happy 6th Birthday, Elijah!

I LOVE YOU!!!

Eli's Field Trip to Zoomar's

I got to go with Eli's class to an awesome little find in San Juan Capistrano called Zoomar's Farm. It is a fun little farm with plenty of animals to hug on... and they let you(: Eli & company got to ride horses, play on the jungle gyms, feed bunnies & guinea pigs... etc. It was hilarious to spend a day with 5 & 6 year olds, but I couldn't do it everyday... no way! Who knew I'd be thankful to spend my days with the "big kids".

A Little Break...

Spring- what a glorious time of the school year to take a little breather. We tried to make the most of the family time that we had as Rich will soon be in the Riverside Sheriff's Academy. The agenda was play at home as much as possible, make a run for Legoland in Carlsbad... and if possible engage in that good ol' ritual of Spring Cleaning. This is pretty much all we got to... Her most favorite part of the day- getting drive her daddy around in a boat. She was thrilled.
Also sported in this pic- her Baby Jaguar tattoo... nice!
Eli drove our boat and when we were behind Rich & Sierra he kept yelling to her, "It's not a race, Sierra!" But... when we gained the lead and finished the course first, he couldn't keeping from cheering for himself because ..., "I won! I won!"

The potato sack slide was super fun... again the winning & losing was an issue for the kids. Is everything a competition?

Easter was spent with just the 4 of us at our house. We had a super mellow day of egg dying & multiple rounds of egg hunt. We missed the rest of our family, but still enjoyed having a quiet day at home.

What vacation would be complete without a tea party? Thanks, Sierra! My crackers...aka cakes and water... aka tea were wonderful.

Once again, Rich sets up the yard in such a way that the kids can play and enjoy for the whole day. I would never think up the fun things he does for the kids. They had a blast... but Tinkerbell didn't like it so much(:
