Rainbow Bright-en My Day

I took this picture with my cell phone on the way home Monday. My commute is the daily thorn in my side, but this bright and radiant rainbow (which was spectacular in person) really gave me a boost. Sierra and I played a game with it on the way home - trying to find the end of the rainbow. I had to drive a little out of my way to get where she thought it would be, but I'll never forget that day.

Say Cheese!

Over the Christmas break the whole family went for our annual family portrait. It's always fun to see how much the four kids have changed each year- and then a rude reminder for the adults of much weight and hair we have gained or lost...
These are some of my faves-
My parents, my own little Tafoya family, Laura, and Lynette's family.
I love having a new mommy photo... especially being dressed nice and not having dry milk or smudged cracker residue on my shoulder- (if you're a mom you get it).
This one is my favorite!!! I know I'm his mom and all, but he is pretty darn CUTE!

My sister's boys- Kyle is 6 1/2 & Cole is 4 1/2
The Bowman Family- Lynette, Scott, Kyle and Coley

Happy Birthday, Rich!

Happy Birthday to my very best friend and my loving partner in this crazy life.
There are so many reasons why I'm thankful to have you by my side...
the humor & the smarts, the hugs & the loves, the work outs & the wipe outs, the help & the holding, the kids & the craziness, the hard work & the happiness, the smiles & the sleep-ins, the messes & the make ups... You are Incredible!!! I LOVE YOU! Happy Birthday!
...okay, and still looking good with your shirt off doesn't hurt either;)

American Girl Day

I was a big American Girl fan when I was a little girl and it has been so special to watch Sierra begin to enjoy playing dolls and "house" as well. I passed all of my favorite dolls on to her, but it was a special treat today when Mackie (my mom) took us to the gigantic American Girl Place at the Grove in LA for Sierra to pick her very own.Making the big selection.Taking "baby" around to choose her accessories. We worked together on the friendship craft. All of the girls work is being displayed in the store on the "Friendship Wall". She got really excited once she really got the idea that she could get some pretty sweet loot.

Thanks Mackie!!!At home, later in the afternoon, she went into super mom mode. She fed her babies and did the laundry. I think I could really get used to this having a girl thing. I love you, Sierra!

Horsing Around

The kids went to a great 3rd birthday party for our friend, Andrew. It was such a great afternoon. There were pony rides and a bouncer. What could be better?!
Eli was calling his horse "Bullseye" like the horse from Toy Story 2 and even sang "Woody's Round Up" as he rode along. The horse handler cracked up (being a product of the late 90's) because he had been a Toy Story fan as a kid as well.

January 13th

Happy Birthday
to
My Super Special DAD!
My dad is the one our family turns to whenever we need a friend, a shoulder to lean on, some guidance (on any subject), help with a project, driving directions, an awesome meal of pancakes and eggs (at any hour), help with the kids, or a quiet hug. My dad is so special. Thank you for always supporting & loving us.
Have a wonderful birthday, Dad.
I Love You!

New Year's With the Tafoya Cousins

Pack up the truck...
Pack up the trailer...
Pack up the kids...
And head to the Rose Bowl!!! The New Mexico Tafoya's and a bunch friends joined us for a camp out/tailgate-o-rama. We were given a VIP parking pass in the RV zone and we tried to make the most of it. There was a lot of food, drink, bike riding, football tossing, Penn State heckling, LOUD game watching and very little sleep. We toasted the New Year in a whole new way this year.
Go Trojans & funny memories!

Fun with the Florida Cousins

Lynette, Scott, and the kids came for their annual Christmas visit. We always fill their week here with as many activities as we can. Kyle is 6 and Cole is 4. They play so well with Eli & Sierra and we feel so grateful they play comfortably- as if no time has passed at all since their last visit. We Love You Bowman Boys- Thanks for the visit!

Wake up Mackie! All the kids gave my mom quite the wake call.

A traditional "sleep over" including games, a movie, popcorn, and sleeping in a tent in the living room.
SNOW DAY! We took the kids to sled at Mt. Baldy. They were crazy!! They were snowball throwing machines!
Coley the dare-devil.
Kyle and I went a lot faster than I had expected- WHOA!
Christmas Eve with Mackie & Papa
All of the kids got remote control cars early in the day to help them keep busy- so great!
Kyle was so sweet to Sierra. They had a special connection.
Pumped up for their day at Disneyland.
Doggy Pile!
Yes, you are seeing Easter Egg baskets. Nama threw a special "Easter Party" for the kids since they are never together for that holiday. It was so funny to me that the kids didn't question it all. They were like, Great another holiday. Thanks Nama!
We had a wonderful visit. I wish that we all lived closer together. Having family around is so special.

Character Breakfast

Laura and I took the kids to breakfast with the characters on Main Street. It was so worth it. The kids were amazed by getting to see the characters up close and have them sit down at their breakfast table. Eli loved Captain Hook & Sierra loved Minnie. Kyle loved them all- and I think Cole was most impressed by the food. What a fun experience for us all!
