What's New??

Oh my.... I've done it again!! I'm so behind on my posting... and I honestly feel guilt about it. Even now, I don't have time to write much of an explanation for these pictures, but they've been saved in my draft post- just waiting to be shared. Forgive me? Summer is starting soon and I'll be back to posting more regularly.

Rich & I played hookie mid-week and took the kids to Lego Land. We had two-fer tickets that were about to expire, so we made the most of it. Elijah is gung-ho Legos right now, so he was in heaven... but Rich surprised me. He too was in heaven. He had never been to Lego Land before and reverted back to a 7 year old boy right before my eyes. He loved that everything is made of Legos and was taking pictures non-stop. It was sooo fun. He said playing with Legos for him is like playing with Barbies for me. Oooooo. I get it now.

We were super excited to have our friends Amber & Sage meet us there too. I love this pic of Eli and Sage holding hands... she is only 4, but towers over him. They were so sweet. They played together like they do it all the time, when really it's been like a year.
These picture are out of order- sorry. This is the "after-show" when they built creatures with their new Legos.
I love that Sierra is driving. You are supposed to be 3 for this ride (she is 2) and so we told her to say you're 3 so they let you ride. She is a big, big girl apparently because she told them she was 5!!
Sage had her face painted... so of course Sierra had to have it too.
So, of course I had to have it as well. :)

Eli was not into getting his face painted... he was down for DReSs Up!
Is it me or does he look really old in this picture. PLEASE, stop GROWING!!!!!!!
Shall we dance???

OKAY, next big event. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 my birthmark as it has looked for the last 30 years. At the end of that day it was much altered as I had my 1st laser treatment for removal. YIKES!! It ended up looking crazy after they lasered it, but it looks okay now. I have 5 more treatments to go and then... nothing... no birthmark. Pretty weird.

Eli loves all things Disney-Pixar and has been anxiously awaiting the new movie, "UP". We took the kids to see it on the opening night at El Capitan. What an experience!!! The streets of Hollywood were crawling with characters & some weirdos too... but the environment was so exciting. There was a live show before hand where Disney characters danced to High School Musical music... and then the feature presentation. If you haven't seen it... do. It is great!!! Adults too. My kids sat on the edge of their seats and have been quoting lines from the movie ever since.

Last of all... The 6th grade from my school went on a field trip to the Science Center in Downtown. The museum was filled with interactive features for the kids... but you know me... I can't let them have all the fun. So, when I set my eyes on the tight-wire bike 3 stories high, I was like, SIGN ME UP! I love this photo because all of my students are behind the railing taking it all in and laughing... I was embarrassed to find when I was done that many had taped my experience on their cell phones... and I screamed--- screamed like a baby when the wire began to wobble. Of course they play it over and over for me, just to make sure I know how silly I looked in front of them... I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere, but hey, sometimes a grown-up teacher-mom-wife needs a little adrenaline rush too....
