Snow Day
On Sunday Rich and bundled up the kids and headed to Mt. Baldy with our friends, the Stryculas's, for a snow day. We were thinking that we're so lucky because there was fresh snow and Baldy is only a half hour from our home- let's go enjoy. Well, so did thousands of other families and so we all sat on the two lane winding road going up the mountain for hours!! We got to the top only to find that people were turning around because there was no place to park. It was literally hysteria. We followed suit only to get stuck in a storm. So we sat on the side of the road in our car and tried wait it out. Four hours after we started up the mountain we headed down without one step in the snow. The kids were confused and hungry and Elijah has decided he doesn't like snow. Happily, though, we ended the day at the Strycula's just hanging out and watching all of our kids play together- all the while thinking we should've just hung out there from the beginning.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for ICE CREAM!
Cousins in the Tub!!
Pretty, Pretty, Princess

Sierra loves all things princess... of course! What girl doesn't? Auntie Laura got her a princess dress up box and all the plastic princess heels a girl could ever need. Mackie (my mom) made her a dress up box full of all kinds of costumes - mermaid, butterfly wings, fairy, animal masks, etc. She had a great Christmas and we all enjoyed seeing her get excited about trying new things on. She's soooo cute.

James Toes
What is a mom to do? Last night while I was painting my toenails I had an unexpected request. Elijah was sitting next to me and watching intently. He told me that he didn't like the color I was using, but he liked red paint. "It is the color of James", he said (a friend of Thomas the Train, his FAVORITE!!). He then asked me to paint his toes "James Red". Ah, the dilemma. It was so cute that I couldn't say no - even though there's the issue with the boyness. Rich said it's okay this time, but please don't do it again and Auntie Laura looked at me and just shook her head. I guess I can't do it again- BUT it was so cute!
New Year's Resolution
Happy 2008 to all! We have let too much time get away from us without seeing so many of our friends and family. It would be GREAT if we had more hours in the day to squeeze in more visits and phone calls. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen and if it did we'd all probably end up working more! Anyway, I am hoping that setting up this blog will allow us to stay connected with you all through photos, posts and comments. It sure isn't as good as a hug or a shared meal, but we hope you will enjoy hearing about the kids latest antics and seeing photos of the family as we grow. Our love to ALL! Happy New Year! -Leanne
