A Date With Auntie Laura

Eli got to have sleepover at my sister's house and of course she spoiled him rotten. She took him for gi-normous pancakes to start the day... ...car racing at Speed Zone... ... miniature golfing (during which he got a hole-in-one!!! Tiger Jr.)...... and then she picked up Sierra and took both for a pony ride at the OC Fair. That is some serious fun in a short amount of time. They are so lucky to have her... and her high-energy. I could never handle all of that in one dose. Thanks Auntie!(:

COLDPLAY on a Hot Day

What: Coldplay Concert
When: Sunday, July 19th
Temperature: 105 degrees!!!!

Laura and I went to see Coldplay at the Irvine Amphitheatre. It was incredible.... but so HOT. The show went until 11:30 and their set was 2 hours long, during which they came out into the crowd and sang so many of my faves. Chris Martin is quite the showman... I forgot all about being the the mature mom, wife, teacher, and jumped around screaming like a kid. I love moments like that(:

A Few Summer Memories

Elijah graduated from preschool in June and I didn't get a chance to post about it... For our family his graduation was such big deal. I know, it's only preschool, but he's come such a long way and accomplished so much in the past 2 years. We are so thankful to his teachers at Sonrise for working with him, encouraging him always, and hugging him everyday. Thank you especially to Miss Regina who has been Eli's teacher since he was 2 years old.

Summer isn't summer for kids unless they take swim lessons. Eli and Sierra have both been taking lessons 4 days a week at the Antonovich Aquatic Center in Covina. The successes thus far include, putting their heads under water, holding their breath under water, and splashing around playing "Motorboat, motorboat".

4th of July started at my friend Sara's for her annual neighborhood parade. All the kids were decked in their red-white-and blues and peddled around in their decorated bikes & trikes.
We spent the rest of the holiday with our friends the Webb's in Carlsbad. The kids had an awesome time playing dress up, legos, swimming, and of course fireworks were the highlight of the day. We had a spectacular view from their yard of the firework show at the Four Season's.

Sage and Sierra were Ariel & Belle for hours. The wigs were hilarious!
Eli & Sage shared at hug during the firework show... and I found out later that Eli even stole a kiss that night. What a lady's man!
Fishing for the first time... can you say FRUSTRATING! The lines were tangled within minutes and the kids weren't doing so well with the waiting, so it quickly became a day at the lake splashing.
It was funny later, but in the moment we were sweatin' a little.

So, in a nutshell, we're just doing the basic summer things and I've been a procrastinator about blogging... sooooo, nothing's really changed:)
